Everton are in talks with Napoli to sign Allan this summer, per journalist Ciro Venerato via TV Luna, as transcribed by Tuttonapoli.

The midfielder, per Venerato, is set to leave the Serie A club this summer amid interest from a number of clubs.

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are interested, while manager Carlo Ancelotti is said to have held talks with the 29-year-old.

Venerato said: “Allan will be sold. There are talks with Ancelotti and Berta, sports director of Atletico Madrid.”

Allan has won eight caps for Brazil and has played a total of 204 times for the Italian club.

Napoli are said to be asking for €50 million (£44.8m), though they could accept €40m (£35.8m).

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

Allan is very, very, very good.

The Brazilian has become something of a star in Italy and he is a proper all-action midfielder.

Per WhoScored, he averages 2.8 tackles per game in Serie A, along with 0.7 interceptions, 1.1 dribbles, 0.8 key passes and a passing accuracy of 87.6%.

He would slot straight into Ancelotti’s midfield and provide a pretty instantaneous upgrade.

It remains to be seen if the Toffees can fight off heavyweight competition from Atletico but if they can, they’d be securing a genuinely brilliant midfielder.
