West Ham United have demanded that defender Jeremy Ngakia tell the club exactly what he wants, per Claretandhugh.

The defender’s contract is set to expire at the end of the month, meaning that he could well depart the club prior to the end of the season.

The Hammers, though, are said to retain a hope that he will sign on, and are attempting to find out what it will take to convince the 19-year-old to remain in east London.

The report quotes a source saying that West Ham have been in talks with Ngakia for months but they have now demanded an answer when it comes to his demands.

Ngakia is currently set to depart at the end of the month if he doesn’t sign a new deal, and he has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks.

Watford are the latest club to be said to have expressed an interest, while Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Arsenal are also touted as possible suitors per the aforementioned report.

At this point, the Hammers need to convince the right-back to remain in east London.

The COVID-19 era means that young English talents will be in demand and West Ham are facing up to the prospect of losing a fortune if Ngakia departs this month.

The amount of clubs interested should tell a story to the Irons, and they are clearly making moves to try to keep the teenager around.

It remains to be seen if he and his agents will play ball but it is sure that the Hammers will be absolutely fuming if they don’t.

The clock is against the club; they don’t have long to make their pitch.
