Leicester City are leading the race to sign Brentford winger Said Benrahma, per The Daily Express.

Chelsea are also interested in signing the 24-year-old but the report states that the Foxes are currently leading the race.

An Algeria international, he has scored 10 goals and registered eight assists in 34 games thus far this term, with Brentford currently fourth in the Championship.

The Bees want £25 million for Benrahma if he is to move on this summer, and Arsenal are also interested in securing his signature.

Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to add pace and goals to his forward line next season, with Leicester likely to be playing Champions League football.

They are currently third, eight points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

Benrahma is clearly a man in demand.

But Leicester may have a carrot over Chelsea in the sense that they can offer him first-team football from the off.

The Blues have moved quickly in the transfer window to sign Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and striking an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign Timo Werner.

They also have the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic and one has to think that Benrahma will struggle to break into Frank Lampard’s starting XI.

Under Brendan Rodgers, though, he could well slot straight in, potentially battling with Demarai Gray and Harvey Barnes for a slot on the flank.

This will likely become a saga; a switch to the King Power Stadium makes more sense than a move to Stamford Bridge.
