There's 'little chance' of Manchester United making a move for Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, according to Dominic Booth of the Manchester Evening News.
The French centre-back has been widely linked with a move this summer after his impressive form for Napoli.
United and rivals Manchester City have both been credited with an interest, while Premier League champions Liverpool are also keen.
But given Napoli's asking price of £90million, Booth believes that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's side are unlikely to make a move.
They wrote: "Kalidou Koulibaly is regularly linked and, yes, there was a time when United admired the Senegalese international.
"His form for Napoli over the past few seasons certainly warrants a big move to the Premier League, which explains much of the noise generated around his name.
"The rumours about Koulibaly being of interest to United and Manchester City are not without foundation, though.
It's obvious that Napoli would like to drum up a bidding war between England's behemoth clubs for Koulibaly.
"But barring an almighty shambles from the current United defence in the coming weeks, as the Premier League prepares to restart, there is little chance of the Old Trafford club spending such astronomic fees on Koulibaly. Or any centre-back for that matter."
