Everton are appealed by the idea of signing Layvin Kurzawa on a free transfer this summer.

The PSG left-back is out of contract at the end of the season and thus, is allowed to join a new team once the window opens.

According to Le10sport, the Toffees are looking carefully at Kurzawa's profile with a view to offering him a deal at Goodison Park.

Everton and Carlo Ancelotti are appealed by the prospect of signing the Frenchman who has also been linked to Arsenal and Atletico Madrid in recent weeks.

This isn't the first PSG defender the Merseyside club have set their eyes upon, with Thiago Silva also attracting their attention.

Kurzawa's current wages in the French capital are in the region of €115k (£102.9k).

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

With Lucas Digne in their armoury, moving for someone like Kurzawa fails to make much sense.

Another French defender, the left-back has been quietly one of their best players in recent seasons, registering six assists this term and five last season.

However, it's the future of Leighton Baines that makes their interest in the PSG man even stranger.

Although he's no spring chicken, the Toffees only offered him a new contract until the summer of 2021 in early June.

With that in mind, Carlo Ancelotti must clearly have plans for the former Wigan defender. Perhaps Everton would be better off pursuing another left-back if and when he finally departs.

For now, Baines is still capable, something he showed against Manchester United before lockdown.

The 35-year-old was back to his best as he completed two tackles, won two headers and also made a further two interceptions. He was busy defensively but his level of concentration was outstanding, providing evidence that his career is by no means finished.

Signing Kurzawa, despite being available on a free and winning 14 major honours, would be pointless.
