Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-0 on Wednesday night to keep the Premier League title race alive, as the English top-flight returned after 100 days. Raheem Sterling scored moments before half-time to give Pep Guardiola's side the lead before Kevin De Bruyne added a second from the penalty spot five minutes after the break.David Luiz saw red for bringing down Riyad Mahrez inside the box, conceding the spot-kick and Phil Foden rounded off the scoring in the 91st minute. City's win means Liverpool can't win the title on Sunday when they face Everton in the Merseyside Derby, so fans will need to keep that champagne on ice for now!Guardiola's side were full value for the win and controlled the match from kickoff.Arsenal failed to register a shot on target in the first half and once they went down to 10 men, it was game over. But there was trouble for Mikel Arteta long before that. Within the first 25 minutes, Granit Xhaka and Pablo Mari were forced off with injury.Luiz replaced the latter and he became the man that City looked to exploit. 
It was a calamitous error from the Brazilian that led to the opening goal.He failed to cut out a weak-looking pass from De Bruyne and Sterling capitalised on his miss-control, firing past Bernd Leno from close range.
Luiz was embarrassed again in the 50th minute when he dragged down Mahrez inside the box, before being sent for an early bath by Anthony Taylor.
De Bruyne dispatched the penalty with ease, smashing his side into a commanding lead.
Man City are almost impossible to play against with 11 men, so when the Gunners went down to 10, it really was game over.
There was a worrying moment in the 80th minute when Ederson awkwardly collided with Eric Garcia, wiping out his defender, who left the pitch on a stretcher.
It certainly doesn't look good for the 19-year-old Spaniard. Expect an update on that injury from the club in the coming days.
After a long stoppage, the game resumed with 11 minutes of added time and Foden smashed in a third goal soon after the clock ticked past 90.
With a three-goal cushion, Guardiola's side were able to comfortably see out the game, pick up the points and keep the Premier League title race alive - for now.
