Jack Grealish looks set to leave Aston Villa this summer, according to reports from The Athletic.

The midfielder has very much established himself as the talisman of Dean Smith's side after guiding the team back to the Premier League.

But after facing a relegation battle this time around, it seems that the 24-year-old's days at Villa Park are numbered.

Reports claim that regardless of whether Villa avoid the drop this term, he'll likely seek pastures new as he looks to fulfil his potential in the top flight.

It's reported that Manchester United are the favourites to sign the midfielder, who could cost in the region of £80million to sign.

However if Dean Smith's side do manage to avoid the drop, it's thought that the midlands side could be orchestrating a bidding war for their skipper, who is also thought to be attracting interest from around Europe.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

News of his likely departure is bound to be a huge blow to supporters.

Jack Grealish epitomises exactly what Aston Villa is about as a local lad who has gone on to become a talisman to his hometown club.

Losing him will be a massive blow, but it is understandable.

Grealish has outgrown Aston Villa and deserves the opportunity to challenge himself at a higher level of the game.

He's a big-game player and that means that I have no doubt of his ability to make it a top level club.

Providing that Aston Villa receive a good fee, I think it's probably the best thing for all parties.
