Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister has hit out at Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri in the wake of the Old Lady’s Coppa Italia defeat to Napoli.

Juventus were beaten in a penalty shootout after the contest finished 0-0.

Ronaldo didn’t take a penalty in the shootout. It’s thought that the Portuguese forward was waiting to take Juventus’ fifth penalty, but the shootout didn’t get that far after Paulo Dybala and Danilo both missed.

The 35-year-old produced another underwhelming performance days after he missed a penalty in Juventus’ semi-final second leg clash against AC Milan last Friday.

Ronaldo has now lost consecutive club finals for the first time in his professional career but his sister, Elma Aveiro, believes Sarri is entirely to blame.

She ‘wrote on Instagram: “What more can you do? This is it and that's all, that's why my darling can't work miracles on his own ... I don't understand how you can play like this ⚽️ anyway ... head up, my King.”

It’s not the first time that Ronaldo’s siblings have leapt to his defence.

His sister Katia Aviero wrote a lengthy rant on Instagram after Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk joked that Ronaldo wasn’t a rival for the 2019 Ballon d’Or award.

“Now, dear Virgil, where you are going, Cristiano Ronaldo has gone and has come a thousand times,” she said.

“You see, my dear Virgil, that Cristiano Ronaldo was a tri-champion in the country where you have been playing for years and you still haven't got your hand in the can.

“Cristiano Ronaldo was even the best player and best scorer in the country where you play Virgil.”

Sarri admitted after Wednesday’s defeat that Ronaldo and his teammates are still lacking sharpness as they continue to work towards full fitness.

“He's in the same shape as the others, like Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa, he is lacking the sharpness to do what works best for him,” Sarri told RAI, per the Daily Mail.
