Before the coronavirus pandemic, Manchester United were flying. They were on an 11 match unbeaten run in all competitions and had just beaten Manchester City in the Premier League.Still in the FA Cup, still in the Europa League and just three points behind Chelsea in the race for a top-four finish, everything was moving in the right direction for the Red Devils. You’ve got to credit Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for turning it around. At times, the Norwegian was accused of being out of his depth having only managed at Molde and Cardiff previously. But were those critics wrong?Well, a fair assessment can be made at the end of this season following Solskjaer's first full campaign in charge. But there’s no doubt the entire squad just seems happier than they did under Jose Mourinho.Mourinho did lead the club to three trophies in his first campaign, before coming second during the 2017/18 season. However, he was sacked midway through last season with the club playing uninspiring football and nowhere near the front-runners in the league table.p1eb472hpe197v1qpupo3v95e0jf.jpgAnd one Man Utd fan thinks he’s identified a key difference in the squad under Mourinho and Solskjaer in the form of a rondo.A rondo is where players stand in a circle and try to keep the ball away from the two players in the middle. The first minute of the clip shows the United players doing rondos in training with Mourinho in charge. There is no intensity and the body language of the players involved is extremely sluggish.Skip to a rondo under Solskjaer and it couldn’t be more different.

The ball is zipping across the grass and the players look like they actually want to be there.

It’s only a very small example and the clips have obviously been carefully selected but it perhaps goes some way to explaining the difference between the squad under Mourinho and under Solskjaer.

Ther is happiness, desire and intensity right now in this United side and the current boss has helped instil that.

United will be looking to continue that mindset when they come up against their former manager as they face Tottenham in their first game back.
