Mason Greenwood is one of the most talented strikers to emerge from Manchester United’s youth ranks in years.Still just 18 years old, the Bradford-born forward has already scored 12 goals in 40 appearances for the Red Devils. All 12 of those goals have been registered this season and the teenager will be aiming to further enhance his burgeoning reputation now Premier League football is back.Man Utd fans were already looking forward to the prospect of watching their hugely-promising starlet in action again - but now, after seeing and hearing about his body transformation during lockdown, they’re even more excited.Speaking ahead of Friday’s clash against Tottenham, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Greenwood is now ‘looking more and more like a man’ after returning from lockdown bulked up.

"Mason is a young boy. He's still 18 and this lockdown period has done him all the good in the world,” he told reporters. "At his age, they do develop and fill out and Mason's looking more and more like a man, so definitely it will help him.

"Sometimes early on you could see he was a kid.

"Now in training he can use his strength better and he has done really well over the three or four weeks we have been training now.

"And his quality in front of goal has always been there and now he has muscle to push defenders away."

The Athletic have revealed that Greenwood has gained 3kg during lockdown - all of it biceps, triceps and quads.

This is the direct result of a reduction in cardiovascular exercise and an increase in weight training.

The results are clear for all to see.

Greenwood now looks a lot more physically imposing…

This increased physicality will surely benefit him when he finds himself up against experienced Premier League defenders.

In training earlier this month, Greenwood was filmed outmuscling teammate Victor Lindelof before scoring, and United fans will be expecting similar moments from their wonderkid during the final weeks of the 2019-20 season.

Meanwhile, Scott McTominay is also looking forward to seeing the bulked-up Greenwood in action.

“You see Mason and know he's getting a little bit stronger and more like a man,” the midfielder told United’s official website. “And, for us, in training, it's been good seeing him making that step to really maturing now.

“He is taking the gym really seriously and everything he is doing really seriously and looks a different player, to be fair. These are exciting times for him as well.”
