Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has confirmed he’s going to play boxing legend Mike Tyson in an upcoming biopic. The project has been a long time coming. Back in 2014, Tyson confirmed that Foxx would play him in a film about his life and would use CGI to help portray the heavyweight champion at various points in his career. Now it looks like filming is set to begin.Foxx showed off his bulked-up physique during an episode of Catching Up with Mark Birnbaum on Instagram. The actor has been training hard to transform his body and his daily workout routine includes 60 pulls ups, 60 dips and 100 push ups and more. However, help might be required when it comes to developing Foxx’s legs.“I ain't got no legs, I ain't got no calf muscles so we're gonna have to get some prosthetics for that,” he said.

Part of the role will involve adjusting his weight and Foxx aims to be 216lbs when filming begins and then “balloon to 225, 230 which will look like 250 on screen.”

It’s clearly going to be a challenging job, then.

But one part that Foxx won’t have any issues with is his impersonation of Tyson.

The American’s impression of Iron Mike’s unique voice, which he has shown off several times, is really impressive.

Foxx is clearly the perfect man for the role.

The pair go way back and it’s their friendship that has helped the biopic come about.

“I got a chance to hang out with Mike when Mike was at his height and I watched [him] go from his height to where he is now and talked to him about doing his story,” Foxx previously said.

“I think that story would be fantastic.”

We can’t wait.
