Tottenham have been urged to make a colossal spending spree this summer by pundit Graeme Souness.
Writing in his column for The Times, the former Newcastle boss suggested Spurs should be looking at three signings, all currently at Premier League clubs.
He said: "In terms of potential solutions, I like Caglar Soyuncu at Leicester City very much. The 24-year-old Turkey centre back is strong, quick and good on the ball but crucially also takes defending seriously.
“I also like Leicester’s right back, Ricardo Pereira, he’s got the right qualities for the modern game and Angelino, the left back who’s on loan from Manchester City at RB Leipzig, has impressed me."
Souness' reasoning was that Spurs, like Manchester United and the rest of Liverpool's challengers, will need to improve their backline this season.
A spree of such measure could cost the north Londoners around £73.3m if Transfermarkt fees are anything to go by.
The Leicester duo of Pereira and Soyuncu are both rated at £28.8m while Angelino is valued less at £15.75m.

Souness isn't always right but on this occasion, he is. Spurs simply have to improve their backline once the summer window opens.
Jose Mourinho's side have kept just two clean sheets in the Premier League this calendar year with the Portuguese struggling to make a big impact in north London.
Various reports clearly indicate that Tottenham are looking to improve things too, with links to different defenders emerging.
Only this week the club were linked with moves for Thomas Meunier, Timothy Castagne and Nathan Ferguson, while it was stated that Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters could be sold.
If the pair were shown the exit door, then Pereira would certainly be a worthwhile addition. The 26-year-old is one of the most impressive full-backs in the division, contributing to five goals this term and making a massive 4.3 tackles per match.
As for Soyuncu, he's come on leaps and bounds from the player he was last season. In 2018/19, he struggled with his English and only featured six times. However, this campaign, he's played on 28 occasions.
Judging by his pass success rate of 89.3%, he'd certainly fit in at Spurs. The only question marks would have to be surrounding Angelino, a player loaned out to Leipzig and not really deemed good enough by Pep Guardiola.
