Chelsea target Neymar has told reporters he would like to play beside Barcelona star striker Lionel Messi, hinting that he would rather play for the Spanish giants than an English side.

"Lionel and I can be good as a front pair," Neymar said, and his club Santos have already made it clear they don’t want to send the 19 year old to Chelsea, or any other English club for that matter.

When asked about the speculation of Neymar heading to Chelsea, Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro de Oliveira told reporters: “Playing in England is not the same as playing in Vila Belmiro. It is much worse, because of the climate and the style of football which he is unaccustomed to."

Neymar would find the climate in Spain a lot more appealing, and would suit the attacking style of football that the Santos president refers to.

But Chelsea will most certainly not let go of their target without a fight, and will have the bank account to tempt Neymar into dealing with the cultural change of England.
