Arsenal have reportedly agreed terms with Charlton defender Carl Jenkinson, who will now leave the Valley for the Emirates Stadium in the summer.

The teenager made his first team debut for the Addicks in December and has since gone on to represent the club eight times in npower League One this season.

Speculation has been rife that Arsenal were tracking the 19-year-old and now, according to the Mirror, he will join the Gunners at the end of the campaign after his Charlton contract expires.

Arsenal are said to have offered the left-back a four-year contract and will have to pay £1 million to secure his services and to halt a tribunal. The north Londoners are thought to have been monitoring the youngster since the age of 17, and Arsenal now appear to have won the race for his signature.
