Leeds aren't in the race to sign Daniel Ayala or Juan Foyth this summer.
That's despite prior reports suggesting the Whites were in the market to bring both of the defenders to Elland Road in the summer.
Though, Phil Hay quashed those claims in his latest Q&A for The Athletic.
The Scottish journalist revealed: "As for transfers, not much coming out on that front yet. Ayala is a definite no-go by the way, but then that was the case when he was being linked in January too. Leeds also seem to be ruling out Juan Foyth despite the links and despite the fact that quite a bit about him fits the Bielsa mould."
Leeds have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, but despite those two rumours being put to bed, Hay did suggest the Whites were looking at acquiring Emi Martinez from Arsenal.
GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...
This should come as a blow to Marcelo Bielsa who, providing he stays next term, will need more defenders.
Gaetano Berardi and Ben White may have agreed to stay until the end of the current season but their futures could well be elsewhere. Consequently, that would leave Liam Cooper as the only senior centre-half in the entire squad.
White is due to go back to Brighton following the conclusion of his loan spell while Berardi is out of contract this year.
Leeds will presumably have other targets but as Hay says, Foyth would have suited Bielsa's team perfectly.
That's predominantly because he's a ball-playing central defender, registering a pass success rate of 86.4% this season.
As for Ayala, his aerial presence could have solved the problems Leeds often have from defending corners. So far this term, the 29-year-old has won a colossal 3.9 aerial duels per game.
Unfortunately for supporters, it looks as though neither will join.
