Philippe Coutinho has been offered to Everton on a loan deal as Barcelona look to move the playmaker on, per the Transfer Window Podcast (19/06/2020).

The 28-year-old has spent the season on loan at Bayern Munich but Barca want to move him on in the summer transfer window.

Duncan Castles and Ian McGarry, of the podcast, discussed the possibility of Coutinho moving on in the next few months.

Indeed, they report that he has been offered to the Toffees, with Barca willing to pay 30% of his wages.

Coutinho cost Barca a staggering £142 million when he joined the club from Liverpool in January of 2018.

However, since then, he has struggled to make a proper impact in Catalonia, playing 68 times in La Liga and scoring 18 goals, while providing eight assists.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

This would be one hell of a coup.

Not only would Everton be bringing in a player who was an icon at Liverpool, they’d also be improving the starting XI that they have.

Gylfi Sigurdsson is currently the Toffees’ No.10, but the Iceland international has been poor throughout the 2019/20 season.

In 26 league appearances for the club, he has scored just one goal, providing two assists. Coutinho, at Bayern, has scored eight goals in the Bundesliga, along with six assists.

He would be a proper upgrade on Sigurdsson; this is a deal that Everton should try to do.
