Liverpool are interested in signing Bukayo Saka from Arsenal, according to Football Insider.

The Reds are said to be monitoring the progress of the teenager, who has been something of a breakout star for the Gunners this season.

Indeed, Saka has made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and registering nine assists.

A versatile player, the 18-year-old has played on the left wing, at left-back and in attacking midfield for the Gunners this term and the report claims that Liverpool have a “strong” interest in taking him to Anfield.

Saka’s current contract expires at the end of next season but Arsenal are said to have offered him a new deal in order to tie him down for the foreseeable future.

The Gunners are said to be confident that he will commit to the club, potentially signing a five-year deal, but the Reds’ interest remains.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

Saka having suitors is no surprise.

He has been in exceptional form for Arsenal and is clearly seen as a hugely important member of Mikel Arteta’s squad; he played against both Manchester City and Brighton & Hove Albion following the resumption of the top-flight.

There is no need for him to be rash, however.

At the age of 18, if he sees out a five-year deal at the Emirates, he will be turning 23 at the time of his next deal.

That gives him time to prove that he is more than capable of holding down a spot in Arteta’s squad at a young age and only seeing his stock rise.

Signing on makes sense; a move can come later, and one has to assume that Liverpool will be keeping a close eye on developments.
