This was then followed by a clash with Matteo Guendouzi at full-time.It's hard to envisage a moment that reflects the phrase 'going full Arsenal' better than yesterday's events, but we've decided to run through 10 more from the 2019/20 season that run it mighty close.
David Luiz vs Man City
We'll start with one fresh in the mind. After his calamitous display away at Chelsea where he was sent off and gave away a penalty, Luiz went one better on the Premier League's return night.
The Brazilian gifted City their opening goal just before half-time, before proceeding to give away a penalty and get sent off early in the second-half.
Injury crisis after 20 mins vs Man City
Another incident from that City game and it's so Arsenal we had to analyse it separately from Luiz's ineptness.
Pablo Mari and Granit Xhaka both picked up serious looking ankle injuries early on against the reigning Premier League champions, plunging the club into an injury crisis after three months off. It does beg the question; is the club cursed?

Jeering your own player and provoking a reaction from him? Arsenal in a nutshell. The images of Xhaka strolling off the pitch that day will forever haunt the Gunners.

Denis Suarez's loan signing in January 2019 was a complete mess. Amazingly. Arsenal managed to top that disaster just one year later.
Cedric was injured when he signed and when he was supposedly fully fit for the Premier League restart, he broke his nose in training. It almost beggars belief...
Leno's mistake vs Chelsea
We feel harsh poking fun at Leno. After all, he's easily been Arsenal's best player this season.
Which is why his mistake against Chelsea was so typically Arsenal. Arteta's side were playing well and defending a 1-0 lead, so what does the German do? Drops an absolute clanger to gift Jorginho an equaliser. Seven minutes later, Tammy Abraham scored to make it 2-1.
Alexandre Lacazette not celebrating vs Southampton
Emery was already a dead man walking by this point and Lacazette's refusal to celebrate a 96th-minute equaliser summed up the situation perfectly.
The Emirates was not a great place to be that November afternoon...
Scoring five goals at Anfield, only to still lose
Fans wanted Emery to play attacking football, so he did. They scored five against Liverpool at Anfield in the Carabao Cup and guess what? They still managed to go out on penalties.
Divock Origi scored in the final minute of the game to take it to a shootout as well after a Joe Willock stunner looked to have settled matters.
So there you have it and it's ridiculous that these 10 moments have happened to once club in less than 12 months.
The task Arteta has on his hands to turn Arsenal around is absolutely gargantuan. Right now, it looks unachievable...
