Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has not signed with Manchester United, despite reports that he wants to leave, reports Sky Sports.

The 25-year-old was been heavily linked with a move to England and reports surfaced recently suggesting Neuer had already signed a deal to move from the Bundesliga.

But his agent, Bernhard Schmittenbecher has moved to quash the rumours that United have secured his signature.

"Manuel has not signed elsewhere," Schmittenbecher told Sportinformationsdienst.

"It is a fact we are in continuous talks with the people at Schalke. This is not something new.

"Obviously we're not going to reveal the contents of these talks. We are not going public with anything like this."

United have been linked with a host of goalkeepers since Edwin Van Der Sar announced he would retire at the end of the season.

Neuer's international colleague, Rene Adler, Igor Akinfeev, Maarten Stekelenberg and Pepe Reina have all been linked with a move to United as they search to replace the Dutchman.
