When Newcastle paid £40 million for Joelinton, they thought they had signed a player who would score 20 goals a season for the next few years. However, it's fair to say the Brazilian has struggled to life in England. In 29 appearances in the league, he's scored just one goal - the winner against Tottenham earlier in the season. He had the perfect chance to double his tally against Sheffield United as Newcastle returned to action. However, despite being through on goal, Joelinton produced a quite terrible effort as he tripped over and the ball rolled into Dean Henderson's arms.

What was that!?

As you'd expect, the striker was immediately subject to ridicule on social media. Check out some of the best tweets:

Earlier this month, the striker himself believes that he can turn his Newcastle career around and start fulfilling that No.9 shirt.

"I think it is still the beginning of my career with the Newcastle shirt and there is a lot to happen from now on," Joelinton said.

"I will always work to make things happen in a positive way so that I can score goals, help my team win games.

"This is a constant evolution and I believe it will be like that at Newcastle."
