John Cena has revealed he regrets how personal things got between him and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson during their famous WWE feud.
The pair headlined back-to-back WrestleMania main events in 2012 and 2013 and their matches are remembered as two of the biggest ever.
While many would argue Cena and Rock both played their roles to perfection, the 16-time world champion has actually admitted regret about how things played out.
"I said some things that were less than nice, he said some things that were less than nice," Cena said during a Q&A, per The Sun.
"I can assure you, in our line of work there is a grey area where imagination becomes very real.
"We were right in the sweet spot of that grey area, each watching the other's every move and not too happy with the other party."
While Cena admits the pair were working in the 'sweet spot' during their feud, he also confessed he was wrong to call The Rock a 'sell-out' for swapping WWE for Hollywood.
"It was stupid of me. It genuinely was. That was my perspective at the time," he continued.
"For me to not be able to see Dwayne’s vision on what he wanted to do personally, and how his personal success could affect a growing global brand, that was just ignorant on my part."
Ironically, of course, Cena has followed Johnson into acting. How would he feel being called a 'sell-out' for swapping the squared circle for the silver screen?
It's well known now that since both men have stepped away from wrestling, they've become good friends - The Rock himself has admitted that.
But during their famous WWE feud which saw them close out two WrestleMania events, the pair really were best of enemies - and that made the spectacle even more special.
