Cristiano Ronaldo shocked his Manchester United teammates when he employed a nutritionist, a doctor, a personal physio and a chef to help improve his performance.

“Go into his house it was like a carnival, people walking around, I used to think ‘wow, what’s going on here?’”, Rio Ferdinand once recalled.

Nobody has put more effort into reaching the top than Ronaldo has and part of that involves looking after his body.

From his workouts to his sleeping routine to his diet, the Portuguese star has left no stone unturned in his career. And the result is five Ballon d’Or awards and countless trophies.

But what’s it like to eat like Ronaldo for a day?

YouTuber Aseel Soueid copied Ronaldo’s eating habits for 24 hours and recorded his findings.

He ate six meals which totalled 3,232 calories. Among the foods consumed were chicken breast, pinto beans, Cheerios and egg whites.

That did not look easy.

Men are advised to eat 2,500 calories a day, but Ronaldo eats 700 more than that.

And the lack of sweets or chocolate is not much fun.

But that's why Ronaldo looks like this...

It's not just a strict diet that the Juventus star follows.

He also values the importance of sleep and says it helps him maintain proper fitness.

"Proper sleep is really important for getting the most out of training," Ronaldo said, per The Sun.

"I go to bed early and get up early, especially before matches. Sleep helps muscles recover which is really important."
