Juventus have entered the race to sign Raul Jimenez from Wolves this summer, according to AS.

The Mexico international has been linked with a number of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

But Juve are now reported to have expressed an interest as they look to bolster their forward line.

The report states that two players could be sent to Wolves in exchange – defender Daniele Rugani and winger Federico Bernardeschi – the club look to bring his asking price down.

Jimenez is said to be valued at €60 million (£54.2m) by Wolves and it remains to be seen if any club will be able to match that in the current climate.

Indeed, Juve are said to be willing to offer $30m (£24.1m) plus the two players in a bid to bring him to Italy as a potential long-term replacement for Gonzalo Higuain.

Jimenez has scored 14 Premier League goals this season in 30 games, while he has also netted three in seven in the Europa League.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

This is something of a twist.

Both United and Spurs seemed like logical destinations for Jimenez as he looked to make the next step in his career.

But that was before the Italian giants got involved.

They have the ability to offer something the other two sides can’t; almost guaranteed silverware.

They have won the last eight Serie A titles, after all, and Jimenez would only help with their attempt to continue that unfathomable record next season.

Of course, it remains to be seen if they will win this season’s competition – they are a point clear of Lazio at the top of the table – but it feels almost inevitable given that they have the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku to call upon.

Jimenez, then, could well believe that a switch to Juve is incredibly appealing.
