If you were to sum up Jose Mourinho’s two-and-a-half-year spell at Manchester United in one word, ‘disappointing’ comes to mind. The Portuguese tactician was sacked midway through his third season with the Red Devils and, in truth, he could have few complaints. That said, Mourinho’s tenure at Old Trafford was far from a complete disaster. He still managed to win two trophies. Well, three if you include the Community Shield. All three trophies - the Community Shield, EFL Cup and Europa League - were won during Mourinho’s debut season.Towards the end of his first season (the 2016-17 campaign) Man Utd played Sunderland away at the Stadium of Light and secured a comfortable 3-0 win thanks to goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford.Shortly before Rashford’s 89th-minute strike, the travelling United fans decided to blast out a rendition of their Diego Forlan chant. This puzzled Mourinho, who wasn’t sure which Diego the United supporters were singing about. He asked Michael Carrick and was swiftly informed they were chanting about Forlan, who scored 17 goals in 98 appearances between 2002-2004.p1ebel4hf51j8l1qkq160v12m59u3a.jpgThis confused Mourinho even more. “Why?” he asked back.Watch the amusing footage here…Mourinho was clearly unaware that Forlan is a United cult-hero because of the two goals he scored against Liverpool at Anfield in December 2002.Fortunately, Carrick was hand to give Jose a quick history lesson."Soon after the match ended, I received messages which showed television footage of Jose Mourinho turning to Michael Carrick to ask who Diego was," Forlan told The National, per Manchester Evening News, days later."United fans were singing about me in the away end, something which I cannot believe still happens. I loved my time at United and had a good relationship with supporters."But I am sure there are many others who say exactly the same, some of them who had more successful careers at the club than I had. And they do not get their names sung.

"It is all very flattering, but I love that catchy little song: 'Diego, wooah, Diego, wooah, he came from Uruguay, he made the Scousers cry'.

"People still come up to me wherever I am in the world and remind me of two goals scored in a Premier League match 15 years ago more often than they do about my goals which saw me as the top scorer in the 2010 World Cup."
