Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't exactly set the world alight since returning from lockdown. The Portuguese missed a crucial penalty against AC Milan during their Coppa Italia semi-final, before proceeding to look like a fish out of water for the rest of the game.Fans criticised him for looking 'unready' and 'rusty' after badly missing key chances and seemingly forgetting how to head the ball. Sadly for CR7, though, things didn't get any better in the final.Aside from dropping another forgettable performance during regulation time, Ronaldo was panned by supporters for being 'selfish' during the penalty shootout against Napoli. It was presumed that Ronaldo had chosen to take Juventus' fifth spot kick for a shot at glory, only to watch as misses from Paulo Dybala and Danilo meant that he never got the chance.

Bologna 0-2 Juventus

However, Ronaldo had the opportunity to put his post-lockdown blues behind him with the return of Serie A and a trip to Bologna who, with all due respect, don't compare to Milan or Napoli.

And it did indeed see Ronaldo return to the scoresheet by converting a penalty - how apt - during the first-half, before Dybala's strike just 13 minutes later wrapped up a 2-0 victory.

Danilo continued his woeful week by receiving a red card in stoppage time, sure, but it's hard to look at that game as anything but successful for Juventus who remain top of the table.

Ronaldo's terrible free-kick

Well... ok, it wasn't a vintage display from Ronaldo despite him bagging his 22nd league goal of the season and yes, we're talking about set pieces again.

It would be fair to say that Ronaldo has struggled with free-kicks since becoming a Juventus player and it's beggar belief that Dybala and Miralem Pjanic don't get to take more of them.

Ronaldo hasn't scored a single free-kick for Juventus, nor one in club football generally since December 2017, and he produced one of his worst efforts yet during the Bologna win.

You can check out the dire effort from last night down below:

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

In this part of the world, we like to call strikes that a 'shank' and Ronaldo should count himself lucky that there wasn't a reverse angle for us to appreciate the full extent of his miscue.

To tell you the truth, though, seeing Ronaldo take free-kicks like this isn't really a shock anymore and his drought in club football can now be extended to a diabolical 920 days.
