According to a poll on our Facebook page, 54% of football fans think Luis Suarez was a better player in the Premier League than Fernando Torres.

Suarez certainly made his mark on England football, scoring 82 times in 133 games for Liverpool.

The Uruguayan formed an effective partnership with Daniel Sturridge and almost fired The Reds to the Premier League title in the 2013/14 season.

However, we all remember what happened then... don't we?

Suarez also made the headlines for the wrong reasons during his time at Anfield, however, getting a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic and also being involved in a racism scandal with Manchester United's Patrice Evra.

Torres also impressed during his time at Liverpool, scoring 81 times in 142 games for The Reds.

But the Anfield faithful were left heartbroken when the Spaniard left to join rivals Chelsea in 2011 for a then British record fee of £50million.

Torres’ time at Stamford Bridge wasn’t so successful – the striker struggled to adjust to his new surroundings and only showed glimpses of his prolific form at Liverpool.

Both men have enjoyed success on the international stage as well, earning a combined 223 caps for their respective nations.

While Suarez has scored more goals for his country, Torres was part of Spain’s World Cup winning squad in 2010.

Despite more than 90,000 fans voting, it’s easy to see why the results were so close.

Although both were involved in the occasional controversy, the pair scored some incredible goals and gave defenders nightmares during their time in England.

They will go down in history as two of the most lethal strikers to ever grace the Premier League.
