The race to become Scottish champions next year is already very much underway.

While Rangers have aspirations of kicking on next term and providing viable competition, the target at Parkhead is much more ambitious.

Coming away as Champions next term will mean that Celtic have made in 10 titles in a row - something that their rivals will certainly find difficult to stomach.

However if the Bhoys are to do that then they'll need to make sure that they make a success of the summer's transfer market.

Based on the latest reports, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Reports in the Netherlands have claimed that Celtic have tabled a bid for Lindon Selahi.

The Hoops are keen to strengthen their midfield this summer with uncertainty over a number of their players.

These include Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham - both of whom are said to be attracting significant interest.

That means that a move for the 21-year-old is seen as a decent option, with Selahi very much a player with his best years ahead of him.

It's claimed that Celtic have tabled a bid for the midfielder, however this has been rejected by his club, FC Twente.

Whether Neil Lennon's side will see fit to go back with a second offer remains to be seen, but it's certainly one to watch.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This could be a very exciting deal.

Lindon Selahi is one of the hottest prospects in Dutch football and it's no surprise that he's attracting the attention of clubs around Europe.

For Celtic a lot depends on which players move on this summer.

Neil Lennon's side aren't particularly short of options in midfield, but given the interest in the likes of Tom Rogic it's important to be prepared.

Selahi would certainly fit the bill at Parkhead, and based on the fact that they've already made a bid, it seems that the club already know this.
