Last week, Mike Tyson teased Jon Jones whilst discussing issues with the way UFC fighters are paid.

“Jon Jones gotta fight me if he wants to make some super money,” stated the boxing legend as part of his argument on the difference in pay that UFC’s and boxing’s finest receive.

Jones is not usually one to step down from a challenge and he clearly does not fear Tyson, despite him being one of boxing’s all-time greatest heavyweights.

Jones proved this by issuing a challenge to Tyson on Instagram, stating he wants to fight him in a boxing ring and the Octagon.

“Mike Tyson, I’ll box you in the ring if you promise to give me a real fight in the Octagon afterwards and because I respect you so much, I promise I won’t break anything on you.”

If this fight was to go ahead, it would be the biggest crossover fight to occur since Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor, however, the chances of this actually happening is very unlikely, despite the matter of the fact that it would be a great spectacle.

Tyson has looked in fine shape in training videos he has been posting online, but he is about to turn 54, and let us not forget he looked well past his prime when he retired from boxing back in 2005.

Meanwhile, on Jones’ side of things, he is still at a standstill with UFC with disputes on his pay after they refused to give him any sort of a pay rise for a potential heavyweight clash with Francis Ngannou.

Jones has been very vocal on his concerns on UFC's pay structure, as only 18% of company revenue is used to pay fighters.

This post may also be somewhat of a warning to UFC from Jones, as it seems he would rather fight 54-year-old Mike Tyson than go up against recycled challengers in a weight division that he has dominated for the last 10 years.
