Tottenham Hotspur’s plans for the summer transfer window remain up in the air.
Spurs are not in the top-four and it is not a guarantee that they will be playing in the Champions League or even the Europa League next season.
Under Jose Mourinho, it remains to be seen whether funds will be available for the Portuguese to spend, particularly if European qualification isn’t sealed.
As the season continues, Spurs lie one point off Manchester United in fifth and six behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
Reports are circulating about the possibility of the north London club splashing the cash and the latest comes from Corriere dello Sport, via Sport Witness.
They claim that Amadou Diawara is a possible target, with the club holding an interest in signing the AS Roma defensive midfielder.
Diawara has made 10 league starts this season but they would reportedly be willing to receive their money back, having paid £19m to sign him from Napoli last summer, per the Sport Witness report.
It remains to be seen, of course, if Spurs will be able to afford such a fee following the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
