Liverpool vs Crystal Palace: Fabinho scores absolute rocket to put Reds 3-0 up

Fabinho was on fire for Liverpool during their Anfield return against Crystal Palace.

The Reds had made something of a nondescript return to Premier League action with their 0-0 draw at Everton last weekend, but there was no such dawdling as Roy Hodgson's men paid a visit.

Trent Alexander-Arnold ensured that Liverpool's mini drought in front of goal came to an end with a superb free-kick that Steven Gerrard would have been proud of on 23 minutes.

And Jurgen Klopp's men really drove the dagger into their visits, who have been something of a bogey team for them in the past, through Mohamed Salah just before half-time.

That fine goal, which moved the Egyptian within two goals of the Golden Boot, came courtesy of a sublime ball over the top for Fabinho who was fast emerging as the Man of the Match.

So, it was only apt then that the third goal of the night came from the Brazilian midfielder himself and even more apt that it came in spectacular fashion.

We all know that Fabinho can strike the ball well - just look at his belter against Manchester City - but he might have outdone himself with an absolute arrow of a hit versus Palace.

If there had been a crowd at Anfield, they might have cringed when Fabinho lined up the shot from fully 30 yards, but when the former Monaco man hit it, it stayed hit.

The ball seemed to travel like a heat-seeking missile towards goal with no swerve, no dip, just pure venom and there was no way Wayne Hennessey was getting anywhere near it.

Check out the stunning strike down below:

What a hit son, what a hit.

We've seen plenty of strikes like that from Gerrard over the years and it seems the perfect way to wrap up what could be Liverpool's final ever game at Anfield as a team who's never won the Premier League.

Name. On. The. Trophy.
