Whether he goes on to become a Manchester United legend or not, Harry Maguire can always boast about once being the most expensive defender in the world.

The centre-back’s £80 million move from Leicester City to Man United in 2019 - which is still a record for his position - may have been a bit excessive for someone who isn’t even the best defender in the Premier League.

But so far, United supporters can have little complaints about how Maguire has fared at Old Trafford.

His journey from Sheffield United to Manchester United and the England national team wasn’t easy.

Indeed, it wasn’t under Maguire starred for England at the 2018 World Cup that he really became a household name.

But perhaps we should’ve taken notice when Maguire smashed the two-footed corner challenge in 2013.

Maguire took part in the challenge as a 20-year-old during his time at Sheffield United.

Tasked with scoring from a corner with his left and right foot, the centre-back aced the contest by scoring with his left foot on his first attempt and needing just three goes to score with his right foot.

Bear in mind that Maguire’s weaker foot is actually his left one.

Not bad, Harry.

The centre-back is approaching the one-year anniversary of his move to United but he wants to be given more time before he’s considered a success or a flop.

“In five or six years, judge me then - whether I have been a success at this club or not,” he told Inside United upon his arrival, per Sky Sports.

"I do believe and am really confident that, in five or six years, I'll be a success and I am sure we'll have many, many good times here.”
