It's set to be a big summer for Rangers FC.

It's been their rivals Celtic who have dominated Scottish football in recent years after securing nine-straight Premiership titles.

But with the 10th in their sights, Steven Gerrard's side will have ambitions of taking the next title back to Ibrox.

If they're to do that, Rangers will need to strengthen in the transfer market.

A big part of that will be keeping hold of Alfredo Morelos.

The striker has been linked with a move to China in recent weeks, and according to Frank McAvennie, it seems that the striker could be on the way out with 'his head being turned'.

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie said: “It reminds me of Arnautovic at West Ham.

"He said he wanted to go and win trophies and I was like, ‘In China, really?’

“If Morelos goes to China he is going for the money, cashing in. He would get a fortune and if he got a three-year contract he would not have to play ever again.

“That suits him better than going to England and having to work his socks off. He would have to work hard every week in England whereas he could go to China, stroll through the game and still be the best player.

“If he chooses to go to China, good luck to him. But he would not be going over there to learn a new language. He is going over there for the money, pure and simple.

“Morelos was a great find but I think Rangers will have to cash in on him because his head has gone.”

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Alfredo Morelos has been outstanding for Steven Gerrard's side but if the interest in him turns into something more substantial, the club will need a suitable replacement.

If the striker does have his sights set on a move, then it's in the club's best interests to move him on and attract a big a fee as possible.

The last thing that Steven Gerrard needs is a player who isn't fully committed to the cause at Ibrox.

If Rangers are to challenge for the title next term then they'll need everyone on their game - most of all their star striker.
