Giovani Lo Celso has been a highlight of Tottenham Hotspur’s season.

The Argentina international joined the club on an initial loan deal in the summer from Real Betis.

That move was made permanent in January for a fee of £27.2 million, the deal being announced on the same day that attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen departed for Inter Milan.

Signed initially by Mauricio Pochettino, Lo Celso has also been a key member of the squad under Jose Mourinho in recent weeks.

In total, he has made 30 appearances this season, scoring two goals and registering one assist. Under Mourinho, he has played 22 times.

And Football Insider reports that Spurs are convinced he can become a star in north London.

Indeed, the piece claims that Mourinho and his coaches can have a similar impact on the team as previous playmakers Mousa Dembele and Luka Modric.

It was Mourinho who green-lit the club’s signing of Lo Celso in January and Mourinho believes that he will be a central figure in his squad for years to come.

The former Real Betis man will surely be integral as Spurs attempt to qualify for Europe in the final seven games of the season.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

Lo Celso is a dynamo.

He is capable of beating men at will, of turning players inside out and of threading brilliant through balls past opposition defences.

Per WhoScored, he averages 1.6 shots per game, 1.4 key passes, 2.8 dribbles, as well as 1.8 tackles.

He is not only mercurial on the ball, he is also industrious while he is off it, and he offers something that no other player in the squad does.

He has the perfect tool kit when it comes to attributes and, according to the report, will be a central figure as Mourinho continues to remodel his Spurs squad.

That can only be a good thing as the season progresses.
