Jordan Henderson is officially the captain of Liverpool’s first ever Premier League champions.
It’s been an incredible journey for Henderson as someone who made such a slow start at Anfield that the scout who recommended him was sacked.
Combine that with being told he couldn’t run by Sir Alex Ferguson and Steven Gerrard even saying that he played ‘too safe’ and his journey to the top seems even more incredible.
Henderson can now stand proudly as a European, world and Premier League champion as well as potentially being on course for the PFA Player of the Year award.
Naturally, after such incredible news, Sky Sports wanted to catch up with Henderson for his emotional and immediate reaction to his Liverpool side making history.
Henderson leads Liverpool to glory
Henderson said: “I didn’t want to talk about it until this moment and so, it’s amazing to finally get over the line. I’m so happy for all the boys, the fans, the whole club, the city.
“I’m just a little bit overwhelmed right now. It’s an amazing feeling and like I say, I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved.
“Obviously, when we won the Champions League it was on the pitch and there was a lot of emotion, but it was a different feeling watching the game and then the final whistle going, being able to be with the staff and everyone was amazing really.
