Liverpool’s Premier League title win can’t be understated.
Their first league win in 30 years. Their first ever Premier League triumph. But, perhaps most significantly, it has put them above Manchester United to become the most successful English side ever.
By winning their 19th title, Liverpool are still one league title behind United’s tally.
However, when you take into account major trophies, Liverpool have now moved ahead with 43 to United’s 42.
On top of their 19 league titles, Liverpool have won seven FA Cups, eight League Cups, six European Cups and three ‘other’ European trophies.
After being confirmed champions, manager Jurgen Klopp struggled to put into words just what it meant for him, his players and the Liverpool fans.
"It’s very important to celebrate because these moments are unforgettable," he said. "We have pictures from the season and now we have pictures of the celebrations and we will create pictures in the future with the parade with our supporters.
"Tonight we have made the best of our situation. There’s a sense of relief because after the three-month interruption no one knew how the season would come back.
"This is for all of the fans. I hope they celebrate it, it’s all in our hearts and our heads, we do it all together and it’s a joy to do this for the fans.
"I have no words. It is unbelievable, much more than I thought was possible. Becoming champions with this club is absolutely incredible. This is for Kenny, for Stevie – everyone!
"The Manchester City game was really tense, I didn’t want to be involved. It was intense but it is an incredible from my players. What they have done over the last few years in exceptional and it’s a pure joy for me to coach them."
