Christian Pulisic's stunning highlights from Chelsea 2-1 Man City

Christian Pulisic scored the opening goal vs Man City

Last night, BT Sport's coverage of Chelsea 2-1 Manchester City quickly descended into footage of Liverpool's title celebrations.

The Blues' victory mathematically secured Premier League glory for Jurgen Klopp's side, with Willian's late penalty proving decisive.

Due to the celebrations from the Liverpool squad and fans on Merseyside, analysis of Chelsea's victory over City has slightly slipped under the radar - especially the performance of Christian Pulisic.

The American winger is back fully fit and he showed last night why Chelsea coughed up over £50m to sign him from Borussia Dortmund.

Pulisic scored the opening goal of the game after capitalising on a mistake from Benjamin Mendy and he terrorised City's suspect back-line throughout.

The youngster now has eight goals and six assists in 25 games in all competitions in 2019/20, an impressive return in a debut season disrupted by serious injury.

Shades of Eden Hazard, no?

The 21-year-old, like the former Chelsea superstar, looks to create and influence the game whenever the ball is at his feet.

Sure, he's not always able to beat three defenders, but the way he always looks forward and to commit opposing players into a tackle really is reminiscent of Hazard.

He even arguably has one advantage over the Belgian - his blistering pace.

Pulisic in action

While Hazard is far from slow, Pulisic's speed is up there with the very quickest. Just look at how he exploded past Mendy for the opening goal.

The onus on manager Frank Lampard will now be on building a team catered to suit Pulisic's selfless, direct playing style.

He will need players at his level to link-up with and the impending arrivals of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech should certainly help the American's cause.

Lampard's Chelsea are going to be a serious problem in 2020/21.
