They’ve done it. Liverpool are Premier League champions. The Reds’ 30-year wait to be crowned champions of England came to an end when Manchester City were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea on Thursday. And they deserve it. Liverpool were far and away the best team in the league this season.Jurgen Klopp’s side have lost just one of their 31 matches this season. They’re on course to break the record for most points in a Premier League campaign and have been untouchable. So, what’s next?

The 2019/20 season is still to be finished, and there will be a trophy parade.

But we’re thinking longer than that. What will be the impact of this historic moment for Liverpool?

We’ve predicted 10 things that will happen after Liverpool were crowned champions.

1. A Jurgen Klopp statue will be built

It’s inevitable, isn’t it?

The German has guided Liverpool to Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and now Premier League glory.

Indeed, Steven Gerrard believes the club should already be working on a Klopp statue.

2. Their rivals will strengthen in the transfer window

Chelsea have already splashed the cash, and Manchester United are bound to as well.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola will be itching to get back on top. His Manchester City side haven’t even come close to Liverpool this season.

So expect all three to come back with improved squads next season.

3. Youth players will start coming through

Harvey Elliott. Neco Williams. Ki-Jana Hoever. Curtis Jones.

Liverpool have an exciting crop of young players and expect to see more of them next season.

There are some ageing players in Klopp’s squad, and now is the time to embed the youth.

4. Virgil van Dijk will go down as the best centre-back in Premier League history

The knock on Van Dijk was his lack of trophies, but since the start of 2019 he’s added some major honours to his resume.

Nobody has played the centre-back position at a higher level in Premier League history and he will be remember as the best to ever do it.

5. A Netflix series will be made

Thirty years is a long time to wait to win a title.

There have been many agonising moments during that time, including Federico Macheda's goal, Steven Gerrard's slip, Crystanbul and John Stones' clearance.

But at long last, they've done it. Expect a fire, 10-part Netflix series on Liverpool's story to becoming Premier League champions.

6. Liverpool players will dominate Ballon d’Or shortlist

Seven Liverpool players were nominated for the Ballon d’Or last year, and expect a similar number this time around.

Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson and Alisson Becker are near certainties. Don’t be surprised if Fabinho, Roberto Firmino and Andy Robertson are also included.

7. Liverpool will honour Trent Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold is just 21 years old and yet he's already a club legend.

The boyhood Red - he joined Liverpool at the age of six - already has a mural dedicated to him on the corner of Sybil Street and Anfield Road, and that's just the beginning.

The keys to the city? A street named after him? It's Alexander-Arnold's world, we're just living in it.

8. Liverpool fans will try to convince Kylian Mbappe to join

To be fair, this has already begun...

9. Liverpool and Man City will compete for first trophy in 2020/21

Man City will be desperate to get over the disappointment of relinquishing their Premier League title, so we're backing them to win the FA Cup.

That means they'll meet Liverpool in the Community Shield at the start of the 2020/21 season.

Bring. It. On.

10. Liverpool fans will be unbearable

Have we reminded you that they've waited 30 years for this?

We'd suggest avoiding Liverpool fans for a few weeks. Or months. Or years.
