The game that showed Liverpool could actually become champions.

Liverpool had won 11 of their first 12 games when City came to Anfield but they needed to beat the reigning champions to send a message to Pep Guardiola and his players.

And they did just that with a brilliant attacking display.

Fabinho got the ball rolling when he scored in the sixth minute and goals from Salah and Mane gave the hosts an unassailable lead.

The result moved Liverpool nine points ahead of City and there was no stopping them after this.
