They were rumours that Hay was quick to pass comment on, saying:
"He's definitely someone they’re aware of. Although I don’t think, at this stage, somebody that they’d be dead set on going for. Leeds are absolutely interested in him in the sense that they like him, and they like his ability."
Although Leeds like the player, it hasn't been specified whether they're ready to bid for the tricky Argentine playmaker.
He has been one of the breakout stars in the Premier League this term, taking to the top-flight like a duck to water after playing in the Championship.

The 23-year-old has racked up an impressive seven assists and is adept at finding his teammates as he is when being a little more selfish.
The Argentine is a mighty fine dribbler, registering a tally of 3.2 dribbles per game.
To put that into context, Jack Harrison has the most dribbles in the Leeds squad, but he's only sitting on 1.8 successful take-ons per match.
Buendia is a fabulous player on his day and it's clear he could add something to the Leeds squad they're missing.
With Hernandez in the twilight of his career, there couldn't be a better time to bring in a player of Buendia's quality.
