Jurgen Klopp has worked miracles during his time as Liverpool manager.
The German arrived in October 2015 with the club in a rather tumultuous state. Qualifying for the Champions League was far from a guarantee for the Reds.
But after implementing his philosophy and working wonders in the transfer market, Liverpool are now the best team on the planet and newly-crowned Premier League champions.
However, it could have been oh so different. That's because Klopp was firmly in the frame to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United back in 2013.
The German had guided Borussia Dortmund to back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2010/11 and 2011/12, but he decided not to pursue the United hot-seat because of one person; his wife, Ulla.
Thompson told TV2 in Norway: "I interviewed Klopp for Sky, and I asked if he and Liverpool were created for each other. He looked at me and asked 'Why?'.
"Then Klopp told me he could have taken over Manchester United, but his wife said it wasn't right. When Liverpool arrived, his wife said it was right. There is something strange there.
"It is as if he's created for Liverpool."
So it was all thanks to Ulla that Klopp bided his time at Dortmund for two more years before joining Liverpool, with David Moyes taking over from Ferguson at United.
That worked out pretty well for the Reds, didn't it?
You do wonder where United would be right now had Klopp taken the reins at the club instead of Moyes.
The Red Devils have found the going tough since Ferguson's departure, but they do appear to be bouncing back to some degree under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
However, they have a long way to go until they're challenging Klopp's Liverpool.
