Villarreal scored a quite incredible goal against Valencia on Sunday afternoon. The Yellow Submarine were already winning 1-0 thanks to Paco Alcacer’s early strike as the match approached half-time.When goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo booted the ball high and long inside his own half, there looked to be very little danger.Nobody could have predicted that just two touches later, Villarreal would score. Most players would have struggled to control a ball that was booted so far into the air.But not many players have the touch of Santi Cazorla. The Spanish magician beat the offside trap and managed to cushion the ball perfectly into the path of teammate Gerard Moreno. And without even thinking, the striker produced a first time volley with his left foot that fired into the back of the net.

Villarreal are out here playing FIFA street.

Just incredible.

A win would put Villarreal within touching distance of a top-four finish and qualification into next season’s Champions League.

They would go three points behind Sevilla who have drawn their previous four matches.

And Villarreal - with a 35-year-old Cazorla in this kind of form - will now fancy their chances of overtaking them and qualifying for Europe’s elite competition once again.
