Leicester fans angry after seeing Ben Chilwell joking around with Ross Barkley at full-time

It’s been a pretty decent few weeks for Frank Lampard’s Chelsea.

Since the return of football after the coronavirus pandemic, the Blues have won all three of their matches to put themselves in a strong position to finish in the top four, while they’re also though to the semi finals of the FA Cup.

They achieved the latter with a 1-0 win away to Leicester on Sunday to set up a last four clash against Manchester United.

After a dismal first half showing, Frank Lampard made three substitutions, bringing on Cesar Azpilicueta, Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley.

And it was Barkley who grabbed the only goal of the game with a lovely finish from a Willian cross.

While things on the pitch are going well for Chelsea, things off the pitch are going pretty well too.

Hakim Ziyech was already on his way but Chelsea also beat Liverpool to the signing of Timo Werner.

But they’re not stopping there, it seems.

They’ve also been linked to Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz and Leicester’s Ben Chilwell.

Lampard had a chance to get a first-hand look at Chilwell on Sunday and he may not have been too impressed at how the left-back allowed Willian to cross for Barkley’s winner.

And Leicester fans certainly weren’t impressed either. Not so much for his role in Chelsea’s goal but his reaction at full-time.

Chilwell was seen having a laugh and a joke with Barkley - something that really didn’t go down well with Leicester supporters as some of them demanded the club to sell him as a result.

Check out the reaction:

Of course, Leicester fans were a bit angry at the result and their reaction was perhaps a bit irrational.

But you can understand why they were upset given the circumstances.

Chilwell will be fully aware of the links to Chelsea and the fact that he was joking around with the match-winner - who scored a goal he could have prevented - was a bit naive.

He will know Barkley well from international duty and, although he was seen laughing, was probably gutted deep down that his side had been knocked out the FA Cup.
