Rangers FC have big plans for the coming season.

Celtic have dominated Scottish football in recent years but the hope at Ibrox is that this is about to change.

Neil Lennon's side have hopes of making it 10-straight league titles - something that Steven Gerrard's side are determined to stop.

If they're to do that, Rangers will need to strengthen in the transfer market - something that they're already showing signs of doing.

Jon McLaughlin has already joined the club as a senior goalkeeping option, but it seems that Gerrard is keen to add youth to his squad.

According to FootMercato, Rangers are interested in Djordje Petrovic.

The 20-year-old currently plays for FC Cukaricki but is attracting attention from a number of clubs across Europe.

As well as interest from Rangers, it's claimed that Nice, Paris FC, Getafe, Anderlecht and KV Mechelen have all enquired.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This is a strange one.

It's always good to invest in young players that could shape the future of the club, and this move certainly fits into this category.

Djordje Petrovic certainly boasts a glowing reputation for such a young goalkeeper, but you have to wonder where the first team opportunities are going to come from.

With Allan McGregor and new signing Jon McLaughlin battling for the number one jersey, it seems unlikely that the 20-year-old would have a chance.

Andy Firth and Robby McCrorie are also still in the set-up and are likely to be disgruntled should another young stopper join the ranks.
