Imagine being at your work place for 11 years and your boss not even knowing your name.Well, that’s the case for poor Luke Garbutt. He joined Everton from Leeds at the age of 16 but today was released at the end of his contract.During that time, he only managed to make 12 first-team appearances - the last of which came during the 2014/15 campaign.Whilst under contract at Goodison Park, he’s been out on loan at Cheltenham, Colchester, Fulham, Wigan, Oxford and, this season, Ipswich.Considering he’s been at the club for more than a decade, one reporter wanted to get manager Carlo Ancelotti’s thoughts on his release. However, the Italian hadn’t done his homework and didn’t even hide the fact he didn’t have a clue who Garbutt was.“Who?” Ancelotti asked. He then turned to someone off-camera and was heard asking “Who?” yet again. He then admitted defeat and said that he didn’t expect that question and that he didn’t know.

Brilliant.

But what did Garbutt think of it all? Was he insulted that Ancelotti didn’t even know who he was?

Not at all.

He sent a series of tweets to show that he saw the funny side of Ancelotti’s ignorance.

He then posted a compilation video of his best moments at Ipswich and tweeted: “There you go Carlo look at what your missing @Everton.”

Fantastic.

On a more serious note, Garbutt thanked everyone for their support over the last 11 years.

He wrote: "Today officially my contract at @Everton has now expired after been at the club for 11 years! The club has been a huge part of my life, and one I had huge pride to represent. There’s been many ups and a few downs which I couldn’t control. @Everton good luck for the future.”

Who?
