Antoine Griezmann’s Barcelona future is in doubt following Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw against Atletico Madrid. The French forward, who joined Barça in a deal worth €120 million in July 2019, came on against his former employers in the 90th minute when his team were drawing 2-2 and in desperate need of a winning goal.Barcelona head coach Quique Setien sent on 17-year-old Ansu Fati before Griezmann, who has failed to convince during his debut season at Camp Nou.The 29-year-old entered the fray in place of Arturo Vidal but was unable to help Barça seal the additional two points that would have sent them back above Real Madrid to the top of La Liga.Madrid, with a one-point advantage and a game in hand, are now the overwhelming favourites to win the title.Setien, who will reportedly lose his job at the end of the season unless he wins either La Liga or the Champions League, raised eyebrows with his post-match comments about Griezmann."It's difficult to put him on without destabilising the team,” Barcelona’s under-fire head coach was quoted as saying by AS.p1ec4tnl0l10skqqhp3gkdp1330b.jpgOn whether he will apologise to Griezmann, he added: "I understand it's tough for Griezmann to come on when so little time left. I will speak with him tomorrow [Wednesday], I won't say sorry because [it's about] decisions."But I understand he may feel bad and I feel bad for him because he's a great person and professional."The sight of Antoine sat on the bench was all too much for the World Cup winner’s brother, Theo, who posted the following tweets towards the end of the match…

The final (top) tweet says, per AS: “I want to cry seriously.”

AS say Theo deleted the tweets, adding: “After a few minutes he regretted his messages and the possible consequences and decided to delete them.”

This isn’t the first time Griezmann’s brother has hit the headlines for his social media activity.

A fan of Manchester United, Theo’s tweets in 2017 and 2018 led to much speculation that Antoine was destined for Old Trafford.

But Griezmann ended up at Barcelona in 2019, one year after signing a contract extension with Atletico.

His former boss Diego Simeone was asked about Griezmann’s lack of minutes after the match.

The Argentine coach simply replied: “I have no words.”
