Bukayo Saka has been a revelation at Arsenal this season.

Having made just four appearances prior to this term, he has played 33 times for Mikel Arteta’s squad in all competitions this season.

In that time, he has scored three goals and registered 10 assists at the age of just 18.

A versatile figure, Saka has played at left-back, on the left wing, in attacking midfield, and as a right winger for the club thus far this term.

And he has now committed his future to the Emirates club.

The club posted a tweet on Wednesday, with Saka penning a new "long-term" deal, having grown into a genuinely important first-team player.

And Saka expressed his joy at signing on after the announcement.

Writing on Twitter, he said: "London is my home. Arsenal my team. I’m so happy to finally announce my contract extension.

"I love playing for this club and I’m looking forward to what the future holds.. The hard work continues so I can continue living my dream. God is Great!"

His new contract will be a boost to manager Mikel Arteta, who has hailed the abilities of the teenager.

He said: “Bukayo is a talented and intelligent young player. He has impressed me with his work ethic and attitude to learn and adapt, and it has paid off in his performances.

"I am excited to continue working with him to develop him further, and for him to help us achieve our goals.”

Saka has been capped up to U19 level by England, scoring four goals in 10 caps for his country.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

This is a huge boost.

Saka has previously been linked with Liverpool but he will be spending the foreseeable future at the Emirates Stadium.

His versatility is superb and he has taken to Premier League life like a duck to water; providing three assists in the last six games in the top-flight.

He scored against Eintracht Frankfurt and Standard Liege in the Europa League and against AFC Bournemouth in the FA Cup.

Saka is exactly the kind of young player the Gunners need to be able to call upon; a player who has developed through the youth academy and become a first-team asset.

They need more of his ilk.
