Manchester United cruised past Brighton on Tuesday night. The Red Devils travelled down south expecting a tough game against the Seagulls, who hadn't lost since February.But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are in form too, returning from lockdown with a number of impressive performances. On the night, they were far too good for Brighton. Goals from Mason Greenwood and two from Bruno Fernandes gave the visitors a 3-0 win and all the points. The real highlight of the game was United's third, which saw Fernandes finish off a stylish, sweeping counter-attack.It was a move started by Nemanja Matic's brilliant volleyed pass to Greenwood, who in turn provided the perfect cross for his Portuguese teammate to smash in. United now sit just one point behind Chelsea, fifth in the Premier League. Given Manchester City's impending UEFA ban, that could be enough to see them qualify for the Champions League.
But with the team in such great form, it's not out of the question to suggest they could leapfrog Chelsea - and even Leicester - into third. Exciting times ahead at Old Trafford?
