Ryan Fraser is set to leave AFC Bournemouth.
The winger has rejected a new contract that would have extended his stay at the club until the end of the season following the Premier League’s COVID-19 suspension.
Fraser has spent a total of seven years at Bournemouth, scoring 24 goals in 208 appearances, but he is now set to call time on his career on the south coast.
There have been reports of interest from a number of clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, but former goalkeeper Paul Robinson has now cast doubt on Spurs’ potential move.
Fraser can play in a variety of positions, featuring as a left winger, a right winger, an attacking midfielder, and even a central midfielder during his time at Bournemouth.
But Robinson does not believe he will easily slot into Jose Mourinho’s plans in north London.
Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “Ryan Fraser is 26. He is entering his peak so he will want to play.
“I question whether he would at Spurs. Is Mourinho going to use him as a full-back?
“With Serge Aurier and Ben Davies, I struggle to see where he fits in.
“Without a doubt, Ryan Fraser will know exactly where he is going to be playing next season.”

Fraser may not be the kind of signing that Spurs need.
They have numerous options on the flanks; Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela, Steven Bergwijn, and Ryan Sessegnon can all play in that role.
While Fraser would be a free transfer, he is not exactly needed.
There are more pressing concerns in Mourinho’s squad, not least the lack of depth in defensive midfield and up front.
A move for Fraser would be padding out an area of the squad that simply doesn’t need it.
Spurs don’t need him.
