It's hard to picture Liverpool getting even better but that's the reality facing us all next season.

The Reds will be coming off the back of a two-year period where they won the Champions League and Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp has truly worked his magic on Merseyside but there is still room in the tank for even more, that's providing the German stays.

He has turned Liverpool from a team heading down the table to one that's tasted defeat just once all season in the league.

Had Watford not beaten them earlier this year, you'd have backed them to repeat Arsenal's achievement and go unbeaten.

If there is anything left to be achieved then that will surely be it next season.

The squad will be wiser, older and will now have an even greater winning mentality about them.

But will that side contain Victor Osimhen? Only time will tell.

Osimhen

Reports from L'Equipe (via Sport WItness) suggest that he could move to Liverpool over the summer, with the Reds incredibly interested in signing the 21-year-old.

Inter Milan and Real Madrid are also credited with an interest but Napoli are said to be leading the race.

They could pay as much as €80m (£72.3m) for the player so Michael Edwards better get his cheque book out.

Osimhen

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

If there was one area Liverpool didn't need to improve in it would be in attack.

The Reds have Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all at their disposal but if they're searching for a true out and out forward, rather than one that plays as more of a false 9, Osimhen could be their man.

The Nigerian is supreme in front of goal, scoring four goals in just eight matches for Nigeria.

On top of that, he's found the back of the net on 18 occasions this season alone - that's from only 38 outings.

At the age of 21, Osimhen has the world at his feet and surely has room to get even better.

However, they must be wary of the struggles some players have after arriving from Ligue 1.

Nicolas Pepe moved to Arsenal last summer from Lille for a hefty fee but has been largely disappointing with just five Premier League strikes all season.

Both had very similar seasons in France before prospective moves elsewhere, but Osimhen has been likened to a top-flight legend - something that bodes well if he joins Liverpool

According to former team-mate Nicolas Penneteau, he could be the new Drogba: "From the first training sessions we saw that he was a player of different class. I said it when he moved to Lille but for me, he might be the next Drogba in the French league.”

Promising signs indeed.
