Tottenham Hotspur will make signing a central defender and a right-back a top priority this summer.
Jan Vertonghen looks set to end his lengthy stay in North London with speculation suggesting that he's in talks with Roma over a summer move.
While the defender has agreed to extend his stay to the end of the season, his future beyond that is very much in doubt.
That means that for Spurs, they are likely to be looking for a suitable replacement.
While centre-backs are top of the list, it seems that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to strengthen the entire back line.
One person that they've been linked with is Tyrick Mitchell.
According to The Athletic, Spurs have expressed an interested in the young Crystal Palace full-back.
It's claimed that the youngster has previously been on trial with Tottenham and is very much on their radar.
A left-back by trade, Mitchell has shown his quality for the Eagles' under-23 side where he been compared to fellow Palace academy graduate, Aaron Wan Bissaka.
At 20 years of age, the full-back is still in the early stages of his development, however his progress may be fast-tracked should he complete a move to link up with Jose Mourinho in North London.
GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...
This could be a shrewd move for Spurs.
Tyrick Mitchell is highly-rated in the Crystal Palace set-up, meaning that he's bound to attract attention.
First team opportunities have been limited for the 20-year-old which could be a concern, but Spurs have clearly seen something that they like in the left-back.
Whether it's a move that will lead to a concrete offer remains to be seen, but Crystal Palace will no doubt be hoping to keep hold of the starlet.
If he can continue improving at the current rate, there's nothing to suggest that he won't be able to force his way into Roy Hodgson's side next term.
If he does, his value could sky-rocket - similar to Aaron Wan-Bissaka's before he completed his big-money move to Manchester United.
